FTP Account Closed. I really am innocent. (super tl;dr btw)
 

I know this is definitely tl;dr but maybe someone will get bored and read all of these emails.

I tried my best to make this easy and ledgible, I pasted them on Word one at time and cut out all the BS at the end of their emails, I added the dates as well, and the emails actually descend from oldest to newest.

So Here is my story, it is 100% true as I have absolutely no reason to make any of it up and would not waste my time collecting all the emails and posting them here if I wasnt 100% sure I am right.

In 2005 I opened "Ring Em Up" and account that I never, ever, had any money on. I rarely played on the account. I was a newbie to the site and didnt read the Terms and Conditions. I decided to make a new account one day as "BigBlindSpecial", they caught me and told me I could only have one account. They closed my "Ring Em Up" account for me and told me it was ok and I could just keep "BigBlindSpecial" as long as I dont make another account. I played on BBS until late December of this year. Basically, my account was hacked and their support team told me to make a new account, using the same email address as BBS (See emails for proof of this).

So I made a new account "FourCardHolem" and it was closed, they said it was because I had multiple accounts. We cleared everything up and it was opened. I tried to deposit but couldnt, so I email them asking why, and they closed my account again saying I had multiple accounts. Eventually they sent me a list (Its in the emails) of people I was somehow "associated" with in the past.

Now, when I had this account I knew 1 person that played online poker at my college and knew absolutely no one else in my school or outside of my school. The person I know, still has an account active on FTP right now.

Basically FTP says I was "associated" with someone that was spamming their site, they never said I participated, but I was "associated" with them.

I am 100% sure I never spammed their site and have 0 clue how I could be associated with someone that did, if the only poker player I knew still has his account active.

So here are the email exchanges, its 3am so I am going to bed, I will check this later.

I have been playing a lot at Full Tilt lately, but I think my account has been hacked. The email and password to my account has been changed. I am not ok with that by any means. I really like playing at the site but can not risk losing money by having my account hacked. Luckily this time I had no money in the account. Is there anything you can do about this? I will definitely never play under my account as "BigBlindSpecial" can I open a new one to ensure security?

You obviously do not understand. My account has been HACKED. They changed my password and email address. PLEASE CLOSE THE ACCOUNT as I will no longer play under that name because of security issues. Please look at my account "BigBlindSpecial" and you will see that it has been registered to me up until recently. That is because it has been HACKED. PLEASE, JUST CLOSE THE ACCOUNT.

I only have one active account. I was told by your support to open a new account so I did. My new account was then frozen. The problem has since been resolved and my new account has been opened. Here are some emails telling me to open the new account along with one telling me my new account is now open and ready to use. All I wish to do is deposit in the new and ONLY account, so I can play.

Here are the facts: I had "Ring Em Up" a few years ago and later opened "BigBlindSpecial" becuase I did not know it was illegal. I was informed that it was illegal and support later closed my "Ring Em Up" account and said if I open a new account I will be banned. I understood this 100% and cooperated 100%

About 2 weeks ago, my "BigBlindSpecial" account was hacked into and I was specifically told by your support team (look at the past emails to verify this) to open a new account. I did this and made "4CardHolem"

I dont understand why I am getting banned because of an account you specifically told me to make.

I did forget to mention one thing. I am from Ohio and notice that some of the usernames have the word "Ohio" or "OSU" in it. Could it be possible that someoner here at my college F'd up somehow and they banned the whole server, even though the IP's are different?

On another note, my friend that played on the same server wasnt banned, so that kinda contradicts that idea, maybe they missed him?

Something odds is going on, thats for sure

Edit: I did send them a reply saying:

"I promise this will be my last email if you answer these simple questions.

- What player was "Spamming"?
- How was my name associated with him?
- What site was he spamming?

Edit again: Why didnt they close my BBS account that was open for about 22 months, it was associated with Ring Em Up but never closed and I even sent in my ID for BBS too. Also, Ring Em Up never got an email saying he was being banned for being associated with spammers.

I think the Ohio college server thing is a definite possibility.

I was denied setting up an account on a small site one time because supposedly there were already several accounts there from my computer or IP or whatever.
I had never even visited that site before and there were no skins. I still have no idea why they thought I already had several accounts there.

Such stuff seems strange.


I think it's more alarming that they keep telling you to do something and then tell you that they closed your account for doing exactly as they instructed.


I'm re-thinking this bit about you not wanting to play there just out of principle.
It's even more important than that because you clearly can't count on them to un-flag you even if they told you it was okay for you to play there again.
So even if you somehow got approval to play there you never know if 6 months down the road some idiot there might see your link with OSUBuckeyes or whatever and then lock your account, confiscate your funds, whatever.

They obviously didn't unflag you the first time even though they claimed they did. They even think they've warned you several times about setting up new accounts when obviously you know nothing about that.

I absolutely wouldn't trust them with my money knowing they could still accidentally bring up that bulls-eye on me in the future.


And I think other players should be somewhat concerned about having their funds on there too because there's definitely some communications issues or something within some of their departments.

I read the post, and I would be thankful if I was you. They didn't let you deposit, and so they confiscated no funds. I prefer this straightforward decision; if they have problems with the integrity of an account, don't even let them deposit.

im seriously getting sick of all this crap FTP is pulling on so many people.

in each forum i read there is something about how FTP is screwing someone - and these arent a bunch of troll posts, they are posts from respected longtime posters. the fact that they have no phone support yet they close accounts and seize funds at will for weeks at a time drives me crazy. youd think, with no phone support they would at least have fast email support, but no.

what a complete crap site. i hope more and more people open their eyes and stay clear of FTP.

(btw, i have not personally been affected by FTP's bastard ways because i have not played there in some time. i was preparing to make a substantial deposit there a couple weeks ago and started to look into them on 2+2 and have found so many horror stories that i will certainly not deposit/play there again until its apparent theyve quit screwing their customers.)

I've just learned of another FT hacking issue that is taking place in the HS NL forum here.

I'm trying to get caught up on it but here are the links.

It starts with the guy having all his accounts hacked into.
He thinks it came via an AIM convo with another player when he thought he was downloading HH's to look over.
This guy then goes around to other sites including Mansion, etc and asks for them to transfer him $1000 to some other account in return for $1200.

A few other people in the thread say they have been hacked/scammed similarly.

Really scary stuff.

I grew up in Oxford, OH and went to Miami (Ohio) University.

Also have driven ALL OVER the freaking state about a zillion times. Lots of up and down time on I-75.

Tiffin is up kind of near Findlay, OH if IIRC. Maybe not too far from the thriving metropoli of BG and Toledo.

Clearly they have not been able to accomodate for the growth post-uiega. It's really showing and looks pretty ugly. This is getting really bad though. Someone from their site has to address these issues soon...

Don't be surprised to see similar crap from Stars. I have noticed a marked deterioration in their customer service since UIGEA ... form responses to non-standard inquiries, looooooong delays on CS issues, etc.
