Something you\'ve done that you now find unthinkable
About 5 yrs ago my senior year of high school, we were bored after going out to eat for a friend's birthday. Two of my friends and I who were really into cars/driving at the time decided WTF, let's get into Kyle's Nissan Maxima and see how fast we can make it go. Note that this wasn't a new Maxima but a 5-7 yr old one. We got inside, strapped on our seatbelts thinking we were invincible and floored it continuously on a highway. It got to the point where at 120 mph, we'd have to hold the accelerator down for 5 seconds before the speed increased. We got it up to 127 or 137 (can't remember). Next day, we bragged about it to everyone, and showed them pictures that my friend took.
Looking back on it now, there was probably a 10-20% chance we could've gotten into an accident and died. The POS tires were probably not good enough to handle 100mph, much less 125+. Boy, were we idiots. |
Re: Something you\'ve done that you now find unthinkable
I did the same thing in my old Plymouth Reliant on the Garden State Parkway headed to AC years back. I got it up to over 100 and it started shaking like it was going to fall apart. That was pretty stupid.

Re: Something you\'ve done that you now find unthinkable
This doesn't really sound that bad. I think I've been in a not so old Maxima that drove perfectly smoothly at 110. Unless your friend's was breaking apart or the traffic was heavy, this doesn't seem that dangerous.

Re: Something you\'ve done that you now find unthinkable
Not unthinkable, but I stole candy from convenience stores almost every day throughout middle school. I just can't bring myself to steal stuff now.

The car handled just fine. I did get pulled over because I forgot to slow down 1/2 hour out of Phoenix. I got off with a ticket for 80 and was able to take a driver's class so no points or record. That Plymouth Reliant at a little over 100, now that was scary and stupid. |

Racing my truck vs a friends at 4:30 after drinking for 7 hours (I wasnt drunk, sis verified was excop) on a windy road...
...needless to say the trucks in the shop with 3 blown tires, airbags having went off, front passenger side all meessed up, no grill , bumper hanging off, hood pushed in, which means the drivers side door has to be opened with a lot of effort... ...and it only happened a day ago... GG |

Re: Something you\'ve done that you now find unthinkable
I drove an old POS Honda Accord on a roadtrip across the country and back. While driving through the open roads of the mountains and the desert I would drive for hundreds of miles on end with the car flat-floored. Its limiter would cut in at 112, but if you were going down hill you could get it up to 115 or 116 sometimes.
This caused the temp gauge to climb rapidly, so we turned the heat on full blast, which kept the heat under control (all windows down in the car to save us). I never really thought "what if a tire blows" or "what if the engine blows" when we're hundreds of miles from a service station. |

did you play a fade or go right at it? [/ QUOTE ] Sidearmed it between the left two branches. 2nd one actually skipped off the tree and in. |
Re: Something you\'ve done that you now find unthinkable
I stole something of pretty high value (maybe 1500) from a family member when I was 13.
Also when I was 13 my friends and I severely vandalized a car that was parked in someone's driveway. I remember kicking in the windshield in plain daylight. I got glass in my shoe. We didn't even know the owner. When I was 18 I did a bunch of tequila shots with my friends and then got into a street race with someone at a red light. I won the race going more than 100mph and running lights. My friends thought it was awesome. Afterwards, we went to the beach to have a "fight club". My friend minorly fractured my rib. |
Re: Something you\'ve done that you now find unthinkable
36 shots of vodka in one night
10+ shots of whiskey (I drank them until drunk, then lost count but continued with the shots; probably quit around 16 or so) followed by 8 bottles of champagne in one night 13 consecutive shots of whiskey (no break in between) while sick and on antibiotics, dayquil, robitussin dm, sudafed and 6 ibuprofen (yes, I know the latter drugs are redundant to the dayquil; I can't do that anymore, too, even without the alcohol) 2 bottles of red wine and 2 joints in under an hour and a half Not puking from any of the above (which is not to say that a couple of them didn't end badly...) Smoking 2-3 packs of cigarettes a day Eating like I used to eat Middle school shoplifting (standard, I guess) Doing 65mph on 25mph streets on my way to school every morning Now I can't imagine doing any of that, especially the drinking. For some reason after I turned about 20 (I didn't drink much for a couple of years) I turned into a super-cheap date...a few shots nowadays and I'm done. When I think of the amounts I drank in highschool sometimes I can't believe I'm not dead. -bb. |
Re: Something you\'ve done that you now find unthinkable
Some minor shoplifting.
In middle school I made a prank call that go my friend's Dad in trouble. Turned out to not be too big of a deal, but initially I felt like the worst person on the planet. Easily the most regrettable thing I've ever done. |

I drove drunk a bunch of times. I was lucky enough to not ever get caught, but it was still very stupid.
