Hey,

I'm a new player interested in setting up an account online, but I'm concerned about the whole legality of online gambling. I've heard that it is illegal, but I've also heard that online gambling is perfectly legal.

Is it in fact illegal, or is it considered illegal by the U.S government but not backed by legislation? Is online gambling illegal in some states?

It's not illegal on the federal level.

It is illegal in some states, although I've never heard of anyone being prosecuted for internet gambling by a state.
