A Just-sat-down AA hand
Going over last nite's session....only one hand I found to be something other than totally standard and boring. Just sat down, no reads.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (4 handed) internettexasholdem.com Hero ($98) Button ($236) SB ($93.05) BB ($108.90) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50. Hero raises to $4, Button calls $4, 1 fold, BB calls $3. Flop: ($12.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, Hero bets $11, Button raises to $34, BB folds, Hero... |

Re: A Just-sat-down AA hand
All in. Looks like AK to me. Of course 44 or 55 are possible as is the unlikely flush draw. I always seem to get stacked here so I am open to a better line with no reads.

Re: A Just-sat-down AA hand
always fun when you just sat down. I'd call and let him hang himself on the turn.

Re: A Just-sat-down AA hand
Without reads these are really tough. Hell, WITH reads these are tough.
Being heads-up, most kings will raise here too. I think it's push or fold though, since there are tons of scare cards out there for you (diamond, 8, 3, etc) |

Re: A Just-sat-down AA hand
I'm probably getting stacked here if beat. You just sat down and its hard to put someone on AA. It is also tempting for someone to raise a new person at the table if they hit a flop like that with AK. Did you post UTG or UTG + 1?

First orbit or two. Doesn't pushing allow AK off easy? And I'm not concerned with a diamond as I have redraws. |

If you call, you represent the flush draw. On a non-diamond turn villain is likely to push which is fine, but if a diamond appears I doubt you get another penny out of him unless he has the flush (unlikely) or KK (in which case you are in BIG trouble). |

Re: A Just-sat-down AA hand
very much a judgment call. Against a certain type of player u are always beat here. Against another type you often are ahead.
If you want to maximize against the latter type, call and check raise turn. |
