Default Lucky Chances Casino & No Limit

Does anyone know what the latest is with no-limit at Lucky Chances in Colma, CA? Last time I was there no-limit was still being played as spread limit (the 1/1/2 table was $4-$200 spread) and even the tournaments were spread limit (although the max bet was 40x the big blind so it still plays like a no-limit unless two monster stacks are involved).

The floorman's response to me was "the lawyers are dealing with it" but he didn't have any more information besides that. What's the legal issue behind the change?

What's really amazing with this is that they've been spreading NL cash games longer than most casinos throughout the country. I believe it's going on 30 years now. All of a sudden this happens. I'm hopeful it will get worked out but I think it's indicative to the increased attention poker is getting and the desire of legislatures (local, state, or federal) to get involved.

"Under new legislation that became active in January, California cities are allowed to change their wagering ordinances without voter approval if those increases are less than 25 percent." The City is cutting their max bet by 25%.

Here's the story: http://www.sfexaminer.com/articles/2...01_betting.txt

As of Sat still stuck with spread limit at LC, and AJ's (which can legally spread NL) has no plans to.

If AJ's can spread NL action, why don't they? It seems like there's plenty of demand.

The only thing I can think of is they dont have the staff to cover adding games. I know there are some 15/30 players who want to start a 30/60 but that doesnt seem like it will happen.
