Deposit to clear rakeback?

When I make a new account with the rakeback bonus must I deposit in order to be able to get rakeback? I already have money on party with rakeback and wanted to play on absolute with rakeback and was going to trade 1 for 1 with a friend. I was going to pay me on party and he was going to pay me on absolute. Will I be able to get the rakeback if after I make an account someone only transfers me money and I never deposit?
