Default Pokerplayersalliance.org - sponsored by Party

I just made a deposit to Party and got a screen offering me a 20% bonus if I paid for a $15+ membership to these PPA guys.

This would be a nice organization/start if they didn't shoot themselves in the foot with this bonus. I can hardly wait to see how badly this plays in the media if they get off the ground.

I think you are completly wrong. That would be like saying the media would have a field day with the AARP for giving away discount prescription cards and discounted hotels in its membership kit.

good analogy, and true. There is nothing wrong with Party sponsering an activist/lobbying group.

The NRA doesn't operate from membership dues. Winchester, Remington, et.al. are behind it. No problem.

POV, I suppose. Anyone who is morally opposed to gambling will have a "problem" with party supporting this.

I don't agree with everything the NRA says (assault rifles, etc.) but they are important to me, as they preserve my rights.

I think that charging people dues for a beginning activist group is a horrible idea....its should have been donations only until they had a decent following and actually proved that they did something....plus the comment about the media is right....it will go something like "The only reason all these players joined them is because they recieved straight cash for doing so...they wouldn't of had 90% of the players they do without it....Does the NRA give out guns for free? Does AARP give out Viagra for free?" On a side note they (Party) refused to let me even use the PPA bonus. I guess my voice in the poker legislation isn't important. Give me an organization ran in the USA for one....backed by a group that will have some sort of pull in American Politics, and you'll have some real members....not a bunch of gnomes and people living outside the USA.

I would even pay monthly dues to a place that I felt was actually doing something about Poker Legalities in the USA.

This place just seems kinda shady, plus I wont advocate anything that's ran or backed by PartyPoker....they have done me wrong (and if you think about it...all of us) too many times....Seriously how many of you would have given the $15.00 if you didnt get a Party bonus?

Maybe instead of the Poker Players Alliance, backed by a foreign gambling site....there should be a American Poker players alliance, strictly for americans...backed by players, with no incentives besides the chance to do something about the poker laws in this country. I can find an $80 bonus anywhere.

pokerplayersalliance doesn't want members they want money that is less encumbered by campaign finance laws. party poker is only allowed to make $X in donations, but with pokerplayersalliance they can make $X + $Y in donations.
