Villian has only played 2 hands so no reads here. I reraise to isolate villian since everyone limped and i wanted to have postion with the intention of calling a push. On the flop he checks to me so it seems like i have to cbet. (Do i?) And if i do how much should it b here since the pot is so big in comparison to our stacks. Do i want to make it ig enough to commit me to a push or should it be something weaker so i can easily fold my measly 2 overs? |

Re: AK reraise the unknown SB from the BB
I think I would go ahead and make it 8.5 pf and just shove any flop.

Re: AK reraise the unknown SB from the BB
i am calling PF and pushing most often when an A or K hits the flop. I think the RR PF her does very little good for us besides bloat the pot.

Re: AK reraise the unknown SB from the BB
Reraise to about 8 preflop, and if villain checks to you push, but if villain leads, fold (on this flop).

Re: AK reraise the unknown SB from the BB
I think this is too aggressive. For those advocating the push on the flop what are you assuming his range is?
Board: Qs 9s 3d Dead: Hand 1: 75.6457 % 65.44% 10.21% { 99+, AQs+, AQo+ } Hand 2: 24.3543 % 14.15% 10.21% { AhKs } Hand 1: 74.3205 % 61.33% 12.99% { JJ+, AQs+, AQo+ } Hand 2: 25.6795 % 12.69% 12.99% { AhKs } Unless my range is way off I don't see how we nearly have enough fold equity against a typical opponent at 25NL. If villian is willing to call your PF reraise with AQ you are NOT going to get him to fold it. I think we only get called by hands that dominate us: AA, KK, QQ, AQ+ or will just split the pot if lucky. If anything the Ace is probably our only clean out if he didn't hit a set. I'd like some feedback on this because I play aggressive preflop but slow down if I miss. (And adding all pocket pairs to villians range only increases our equity by about 2%) |

[ QUOTE ] i am calling PF and pushing most often when an A or K hits the flop. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] this line seems rediculous. if i call pf the pot will be like 5.50 or sumtin and i will have like 23ish behind. how on earth am i pushing the flop? after i have thought about it today i think i like the line of reraising 8 or 8.5 pre and then giving up if villian bets into me when no A or K hit and the pushing any flop when checked to. by reraisng preflop it gives me a ton of FE on the flop and imo wut makes this play profitable. so i have to use that when cheked to but must also give up when bet into. i wish effective stacks were much deeper here so that i would have more room to play. |

I actually think you're right, kaz. I don't like the line I suggested either.
