Expected hourly playing STT satellites
The following is from the STT forum FAQ sticky, assuming a good player:
[ QUOTE ] 11s - 25% ROI 20s - 20% ROI 33s - 16% ROI 55s - 13% ROI 109s - 10% ROI 215s - 7% ROI [/ QUOTE ] Let's say they're pretty much equivalent to the choices at RIO: 125s - 25% ROI = $31 175s - 20% ROI = $35 225s - 16% ROI = $36 275s - 13% ROI = $36 325s - 10% ROI = $32.50 525s - 7% ROI = $36.75 Estimated average time per STT: 125s = 45 min 175s = 45 min 225s = 45 min 275s = 45 min 325s = 60 min 525s = 75 min So hourly rate would approximate to: 125s = $31 * (60 min/45 min) = ~$41 175s = $35 * (60 min/45 min) = ~$47 225s = $36 * (60 min/45 min) = ~$48 275s = $36 * (60 min/45 min) = ~$48 325s = $32.50 * (60 min/60 min) = ~$32.50 525s = $36.75 * (60 min/75 min) = ~$29 Obviously, I don't think as you go up in level there will be diminishing returns, but these calculations are kind of an estimate, so you get the idea. How're my ROI estimates or time estimates, about right or way off? Are these satellites as soft this year as they were last year? And, how long is your downtime between satellites? TIA. Chris oh, and I plan on being out there for a few weeks arriving 7/6 and would love to hang out with some 2+2'ers. |

Re: Expected hourly playing STT satellites
Play at the $125's is equivalent to the Party $5+1 speeds at best. At the $500+ level, I doubt is above the $10+1 speed skill level. That being said, the structure is so fast that your ROI estimates are off, but I'm not sure by how much. It also really depends on your chopping skill as much as your poker-playing ability. Off the top of my head, 20% is probably a reasonable number given how troglodidic the play is and how aggressive the blind structure is. Also... 1.5 hours to finish one of these accounting for how often they run and how long it takes to start one up.

Re: Expected hourly playing STT satellites
Channel FieryJustice when dealing. He ended up with almost exactly the same cash 4-handed as someone with about 50% more chips.
I imagine something like this in a $125, which pays out 2x$500 chips and $120 cash. You are down about 2.5:1 in chips. The trick is basically rounding up. "One double up and I'm back to even with you, and then I won't chop because I think I can win. How about we save by splitting the chips 1 and 1, then just play for the cash?" I don't know if that would work, but the threat of sending some donk home empty-handed should be enough to command a premium. Anyone who will fold getting 3:1 will definitely f up a chop if you give them a chance. |

Re: Expected hourly playing STT satellites
I played 2 125s today. Chopped one heads up and busted 6th in the other. I'll be playing these everyday for the next few weeks. I was not to impressed with the play of others at the table, but did not see anything too donkish, just a lot of weak play.

Re: Expected hourly playing STT satellites
My current hourly in the 125/175's is about $400/hr now. Is this sustainable? I've played three, and that seems like a lot so I think it is.
