Possible? Technically, yes. Not a good idea unless you're insane.
To get to the Rio for free more quickly and comfortably, walk north along the strip to the Paris and take the shuttle to the Rio. The Paris is the second casino north from the MGM.

[/ QUOTE ] Here's the ticket. Walk to Paris or Bally's from MGM. I agree it is doable. But if you're going to be playing in a WSOP event, I wouldn't walk it. I finally met an old Net friend who qualified for a seat at Bellagio $25k this year. He stayed at Tropicana (paid by the site). He only brought $250. Some of these online qualifiers can barely afford the trip...even with room and buyin paid. Bless their souls, though. RazzO

If you're going to walk it, do it when the sun's not fully out. Walking it at high noon, for example, would be challenging to anyone who's not used to walking any distance.
Also, you have to cross the on-ramps to the Interstate to get there, which can be interesting.

im gonna make the walk. its only supposed to be 102 as opposed to 110 last week.
thing is, i wont be a poor bastard after event 2 is over, but im still gonna walk back and hopefully not get robbed.

This walk is easily doable. But, you don't want to do it once it gets above 95 degrees. Bring a bottle of water with you if you do.
I routinely walk 1-2 miles even on the hottest days. But, I'm used to it. Everyone posting "you can't walk from here to here" are pansies.
