Default Any thoughts on the July 4th $5K NLHE event?

Probably not much dead money compared to the main event or the smaller events. Anyone played in this event before? If so, is it worth it?

This is actually my favorite event. Starting chips of $5000, so there's a lot of play, and not nearly as many players as the main event.

Though it obviously does tend to attract the better players, as not everyone is willing to put up $5000...

Expect a field of around 600 with the possibility of slighty more due to some extended holidays.

One would expect a tough field of around 400 for this one:

1. $5K buy-in

2. Lousy time slot, at the end of a holiday break when most of the dead money has left town

3. NO TV

This particular event was televised in 2004 and 2005 but will NOT be televised in 2006.
