Default WSOP ME qualifying.. Why is it so hard?

How is everyone qualifying for the ME this year? I've tried the 15+1 double shootout's, probably at least 4 or 5 per week with absolutely no luck. I've tried the 500 VIP FPP sats and got very deep last week but got 11th when I lost a CF. I've played probably 60 DS's, 4 FPP sats and continue to get beat down. Give me some advice/helpful suggestions anyone?

It's hard to make $10,000 when you are only willing to invest $15.
