Default Pre-registration for preliminary events: any point?

I've decided to come into town the weekend of July 21 and contribute my dead money to the $2000 NLHE event (#31). No point in pre-registering for this puppy, right?

Sorry for the basic question.

-Nate

I started a thread on this last week. Sounds like they might cap some events.

Thanks for this link. One reason that I'm reluctant to pre-register (let's face it; getting a damn cashier's check and sending a fax is NOT that hard) is because in the event that I played in last year ($2500 LHE), it seemed like all the pre-registrations were lumped together at the same table. As a result, my table was very difficult. Anyone know if this is likely to be the case this year?

Nate,

Other than the first event and the ME I see no reason to worry about pre-registration.

Nate,

If you are allowed to pre-register on stars, you can buy w dollars at a ten percent discount and register. I registered for 15.5k worth of events so I saved a pretty significant amt of money.

I believe you have to have been a Silver Star VIP at some point (not necessarily at the moment) and have earned 10K FPPs lifetime. Something like that.

I once was standing in line behind Chan, Coultier and Siedel for the 3,000 buy in...when I got to the desk..I asked if it was random seating or might I get stuck at the same table with those 3..They said "oh for sure it's random"..well you know the drill..I end up sitting at the table with those 3 +Scotty N...be careful who youre behind or ahead of in line.

Though I did end up surviivng that table..I busted Chan on the 2nd round of the tourny.
