Bet on the river with a set?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (9 handed) converter
saw flop|saw showdown Hero ($5.23) MP2 ($5.20) MP3 ($1.72) CO ($1.87) Button ($1.29) SB ($5.50) BB ($1.93) UTG ($4) UTG+1 ($2.66) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.02, UTG+1 calls $0.02, Hero calls $0.02, MP2 calls $0.02, MP3 calls $0.02, CO calls $0.02, Button calls $0.02, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: ($0.18) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (9 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets $0.04, Hero raises to $0.22, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.18. Turn: ($0.62) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $0.4, UTG+1 calls $0.40. River: ($1.42) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero ... Final Pot: $1.42 Villain is 64/0/.67 after only 15 hands, so no real read. Do I value bet the river or am I afraid of a higher set? Am I making the correct bet sizes here or do I need to slow down a bit more after he calls the flop (and turn)? Thanks for the advice guys.... |

Re: Bet on the river with a set?
I'd fold.
Of course you value bet. In fact you bet as much as you think villian is calling here, all the way up to a push. Why are you afraid of a higher set? Don't be. It happens so rarely that at this limits, don't worry. Besides, this is a nearly empty perfect board for your set. If you lose to a high set here, then so be it. You want to get as much of your money in this pot as possible. I'm PMing you. |
