NL100 QQ gets raised on flop by nit
Villain is 16/12/2.9 over 490 hands. No other reads. Is it better to reraise him on the flop? I called with the intention of getting it in on the turn unless the turn was an ace or completed the flush.

Re: NL100 QQ gets raised on flop by nit
Against this opponent if you're gonna felt it do it on the flop, but after checking the turn this is a fold. 16/12's usually bet the turn without a set and without a history betweeen the two of you.

ill probably get flamed for saying this but i fold to the flop raise. i dont think he does this light multiway very often and he will show up with a set most times given pf. when he bets the blank turn youre not ahead often either as hes taking a free one often with a draw. on the flop youre just praying that he has AQs or something.

Don't pay off nits. Without some extra read on him you're seeing a set here way too often for this to be profitable.

Don't pay off nits. [/ QUOTE ] He calls on CO.. TT+ would have reraised i guess. You are only beating a spade draw here on the flop but I don't think that - given his AF and his 4% calling range - he has it here often enough for you play to be profitable. A set always calls your shove, just a draw will not get it in as often as this. So I would say this was a -ev play. Since I am oop I decide on the flop if i fold or shove. Here - against this opponent - I would fold after some consideration. |

Re: NL100 QQ gets raised on flop by nit
in a multiway pot nits almost ALWAYS show up with 2pr/set when they raise the PFRer, and on the rare occasion where he does have a spade draw its always a combo draw (9sXs, As3s, 3s5s etc) and your equity isnt that great vs his range.
i generally dont try to stack-donk a nit becauuse they love to check behind the turn with their draws and marginal hands |
