I check here. Either he's got a busted draw, which Q-hi beats, or he has a pair or Ax that he's not willing to let go. A draw seems most likely since probably any pair check-raises the flop.

[/ QUOTE ] I agree with this. The logic in the book was to bet as he might fold a busted draw, but of his busted draws only 7Xdd beats us and generally I find that either puts in more action on the flop or doesn't fold the river. The real problem with trying to analyze this one well is the description of the BB is fairly useless as loosepassives come in so many shapes and sizes, and I'd expect most loosepassives here to have a weak draw at best, which you beat, or a hand that won't fold. Yes, he could have 32s and decide to fold here but overall I don't think his hand will be weak enough that he will fold when he doesn't have a busted draw often enough to justify the bluff. Rob |

Re: survey/thoughts of a hand quiz from \'winning in tough holdem games
that was my take too. i reread the hand a few times to make sure i didnt miss anything. i couldnt find a single hand that would fold here, is there a lot of people who call on 2pair/trips draws(?) and fold them on the river heads up?
i was hoping to hear someone argue for a bet here |

I would move all in on the river. Oh wait it's limit. This is an easy check vs all but the most nitty of the nits.

funny, this hand in the quiz stood out to me too. I tried to see Stox logic and apply it to myself, but I can't see not checking this river.
