During Prohibition, it didn't matter if whiskey was legal in Canada if you tried to bring it to the US. They still prosecuted you. They didn't let rumrunners and moonshiners off with an 'atta boy' and hearty handshake.
Of course, I think these actions vs internet gaming are ludicrous, but there are plenty of existing laws, and RICO, that give the DoJ a pretty solid position, whether we like it or not. I don't see requesting info from the largest, most lawyered-up banks in the world as intimidation, it's SOP, they get info requests all the time. |
