Urgent appeal to PokerStars to eliminate VIP freerolls post Neteller
The freerolls award very large sums of money to very few people. Historically, the majority of this money will be withdrawn. Under current conditions, it will be even more diffuclt for this money to get back into the community.
PokerStars, please use these hundreds of thousands of VIP rake dollars a month and distribute them as "cash" bonuses to players who keep the day to day games and tourneys fully loaded. Not to the handful of lucky players who will remove large portions of money from online poker. Furthermore, I suspect as time passes and more and more players have lost their online bankrolls "freerolls" are going to become more popular. Players who are contributing the least amount of revenue to online poker are going to be "whoring" the life out of these events. Playing a few microlimit hands a month can get you SILVER VIP and the opportunity at hundreds of thoudands in freeroll $. |

That... or they'll just work harder at non-US marketing.

[/ QUOTE ] Unfortunately for your argument, the information Scotty has given in the past indicates that this simply isn't true. From what he has said, their research has shown that players that win the freeroll cash typically take it and play at levels above their head, essentially redistributing it back into circulation. |

Re: Urgent appeal to PokerStars to eliminate VIP freerolls post Netell
The freeroll is like giving everyone a free 5 dollar tourney entry.
If they distributed the monies among the top 1000 players instead it would come out to like 20 bucks per person, I dont think that many frequent players would be overwhelmed by getting 20 dollars. so the VIP tourney thing probably works better. |

Why Not just Flatten the payout structure of the them.
Payem alittle deeper. Give more people money and its more likely to find its way back in. Peace |

Did you know it's actually harder for you to win the money back if it gets withdrawn, not easier?

Playing a few microlimit hands a month can get you SILVER VIP and the opportunity at hundreds of thoudands in freeroll $. [/ QUOTE ] This is a funny statement. You realize that it doesn't take a few hands, right? Getting Silver playing a mix of NL10 and later NL25 it took around 25K hands and about $350 of rake. No casual one-two-tabling microplayer gets there in a month. Ever. So getting like $5 or $10 of MTT entries is really not gonna drain the poker economy and doesn't even come close to rb or a decent reward. |

Oh no, someone playing 10NL and 25NL isn't considered VIP? Do you understand the meaning of VIP? Not everyone is very important.
