Default Do you hate \"Happy Turkey Day?\"

Do you hate when people say "Happy Turkey Day" instead of "Happy Thanksgiving?" I can't quite put my finger on why, but I hate it. It rubs me the wrong way. It's like saying "Happy Fireworks Day" on Independence Day or something.

Am I the only one?

I had just mentioned in an email the other day that since Iīm not in the states this Thanksgiving and couldnīt do it this year myself, to make sure that anybody who says "Happy Turkey Day" got punched squarely in the face. Seriously, few things bother me, but "Happy Turkey Day" is one of them. I [censored] hate it. If I could travel back in time and find the guy who started saying this, Iīd probably wave and say hi before disappearing into thin air to travel further back in time and murder his mother.

I hate a significant ammount of days that people tell me "Happy <whatever> day". Especially days that don't mean anything to the people saying it to each other, like when someone who isn't religious tells me happy easter knowing that i'm also not religious. or people who tell me happy valentines day that I'm not currently seeing. i just have this awkward feeling whenever it happens because its such an empty gesture.

weird, I actually stopped in 7/11 to get a pack of smokes, and there was 2 girls that walked in at the same time as me, one was hot, and ran into someone she knew I guess, and she said "happy Turkey day" it annoyed the [censored] out of me for some reason. Happy thanksgiving is alright, I dont mind that.
