HU - medium PP - turn Ace
Playing on PP. 15/30 Full table.
Villian seems solid (somewhere around 24/10/1.7) I raise with 77 UTG + 2, UTG + 3 (villian) raises, all fold, I cap. Flop 332 I bet, Villian Calls turn A I check, Villian Bets, I ?? |

Re: HU - medium PP - turn Ace
why did you cap preflop?
i think i would have bet/folded the turn(as played) i dont think a guy with a 10% PFR is 3-betting an early raise with KQ, so i guess you have a fold here, i might possibly call this and fold the river UI if i think he could have a king high hand |

why did you cap preflop? [/ QUOTE ] Thought this may come up. I like to cap occasionally on these because when the flop misses his AQ, AJ, etc. He will fold. It also causes hands like 99, TT to fold when a A, K or Q flop. This is my reasoning anyway? Thoughts on that? |

Re: HU - medium PP - turn Ace
capping preflop makes no sense, you're either a slight favorite or crushed against his range here (assuming it's reasonable).
having just called, I'd have c/r'd the flop and taken it from there. since you capped, I think the play is to bet/fold this turn and hope he'll let go of TT-QQ. were you thinking about check/calling the turn? he's gonna value bet the hell out of you on the turn and river when he has an ace, and probably fire at the turn but check behind the river with his weaker overpairs. edited b/c I thought you called the turn. |
