Default my friend owes me money is he [censored] with me?

My friend owes me 5k and was supossed to pay it back a while ago... Now he says his bank only let him take out a max of 2k in cash... Do banks have rules like that? I know mine doesn't. thats all... discuss..

2k in cash from the ATM or what? If he is, ask him to write you a check, he wont if he doesnt have the moeny.

Ya, even at the tellers, they give you some trouble, you can usually talk to a branch manager though, and they will give you what you want.

Ya this should still work, or he could probably tell them ahead of time (1 week) he will be withdrawing 5k. If he is blaming the bank for why you don't have your money something is wrong.

This is why they make cashier's checks. Same as cash and easier to carry. $5K in cash...why?

Story is all kinds of bull. But he's a friend, so go with it. If you get 2k today, 2k tomorrow, 1k, after...then everyone's good.

If he comes to you tomorrow with another excuse, he doesn't have it.

Banks hold your money. If you go to the branch, you can take out all your money. You may have to produce some ID(s), signatures, etc, but in the end, you can take out all your money.
