JSH06,

inducing a bluff is a huge part of my game (maybe too big). But this is a bad spot for it. You've 3bet preflop and bet strongly on the flop. Villain will rarely bluff on river.

As for filling up, we're ahead so often here that I don't think that matters

You make a good point here. You may have just changed my mind to betting the turn.

But there are only four queens in the deck if he doesn't have one, and if you bet here and get checkraised how sick are you going to be?

Is getting check-raised here really that bad? I think with bigger stacks then yeah, but here you will still be getting 2 to 1 money odds with 11 outs. Assuming he always has the queen you are talking an underlay by calling the check-raise, but by checking you give an outside chance for him to catch a flush or even a straight to split or win. Also, you may be missing value on turn if he has a hand which can call and even betting the river may be hard if a heart falls or for fear he has the Q and is trying to induce a bluff from you.

Turn: ($59.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($59.50) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP2 All in, Hero calls $64.39.

Final Pot: $123.89

Results in white below:
MP2 has As Qc (straight, ace high).
Hero has Kc Kd (three of a kind, kings).
Outcome: MP2 wins $123.89.

Just for your curiosity

Ouch. Looks like MP2 was a major donk. I hope you made a note on this.

raise way more preflop - 12 to 15 range and obviously do this with more than AA/KK/QQ occasionally.

flop is perfect. the guy called a PSB with a GSD? total moron. he also called a reraise OOP with AQo in a full ring game? definitely retarded. buddylist.

i have to disagree with everyone trying to induce bluffs. people don't bluff when an all in is just one PSB - they know it doesn't work. you're stuck with this hand and they know it.

there are also a lot of worse hands that will not bet but will call. scared undersets, two pair, etc. - these people just don't know to fold or play their hands. if i'm in OP's spot, the question is, when do i want my money in, not, is it going in?

i think i push the turn because these worse hands make up enough of his range that he might find a fold for two pair/set if the river is a Q (naked ace is the nut straight) or some other scare card (K pairing and they have bottom two, etc). so just stick it in on the turn.
