I don't follow baseball too closely but how exactly did he get an extension (and such a long one) when his team is the second-worst in baseball? Do they have a ton of injuries or something?

Not really, the only starter down at the moment is Joe Crede. I guess Kenny isn't being results oriented and likes how Ozzie is handling the job. I haven't heard a peep in the Chicago media about firing Ozzie either. The collective wisdom in Chicago is that the team is just unlucky this year.

Ozzie is fine. He does a lot of stupid things, but most managers do. He seems to manage his personnel well enough and does fine with the pitchers. You can't ask for a lot more. Just because he's an outspoken idiot and swears a lot isn't a valid reason to think he sucks as a manager.
