Default nlhe noob with AJs nl100

Hi-

NL100 6max game.

I'm sb with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I open raise to $4 (4x bb)
Unremarkable, loosish bb (stack = 50bb) reraises to $11.
I call $7 (bad?)

Flop J66 rainbow. (pot = $22ish)

I check. He leads $15. I push more than his stack.

Any comments on both streets?

I think pf is okay against a loose player.

Why c/r flop? I think I like leading here better.

i don't know.
i'm very much playing by feel.
lead pot size? thats about half his remaining stack
if i lead, can i fold to a raise? do i lead a blank turn and fold to a raise? if i make a sizable bet, i feel he's basically pushing. should i care?

thanks for the comments...

If he's loosish, this is pretty standard, especially considering how short you're playing.

If you're not playing short, it's more marginal; if you're not playing short and the opponent is not "loosish," dump it preflop like your fifth-grade girlfriend. Don't even leave a note in its locker.

I can't see the preflop call being at all good

Against a loose player? It might be close, but short-stacked against a loose player, I look to flop top pair and crai here. Standard double up.

its 50BB, its not super short.

And just cos he's loose, doesn't mean he's LAG. A lot of loose players have very small rr ranges preflop

Not a stupid question at all; in fact, it is precisely what makes answering these posts in an online forum difficult. I have played live against people who will min-re-raise QT. They'll min-raise any pair. They'll MRR Ax. It's very ugly.

A loose player has a wide range here, even with a re-raise. But I might be imagining a player who is more loose than the actual Villain. Who knows.

I can tell you that in a standard situation, I muck AJ to a re-raise every time preflop.

DB,

I guess my real answer here is that it would really depend on my feel and read of the situation. Being short is a factor here, but it's hard to tell what "loosish" actually means. I agree with you that AJ is usually junk to any raise preflop.
