I didn't say it at the time, because I was basically just nodding my head. Great friggin' post.

At the time this was written, I was just dabbling in 1/2 every now and again, and I was getting my ass kicked. I had to pose the question to Micros on whether I should move up in March because I was so worried about getting killed.

Now I have 10,000 hands under my belt, and I'm running a cool 4.36 BB/100 over that stretch. Granted, that's mostly due to the sick 8 BB/100 I'm running over 3K at 1/2 fish-max (and shorthanded was another area of my game where I was nervous).

So since I didn't say it before, I'll say it twice now: great friggin' post.

I'm currently playing on DSI Poker (PokerRoom skin) and playing 0.5/1. Perhaps Party truly is loaded with fish (I haven't played there but will be moving my bankroll there soon because I have enough for the deposit bonus). The players/flop at DSI for 0.5/1 is the complete opposite from how you describe, with the average being 30% and never 35%. I've even seen full tables with 25%! What my tables do sound like are the Party 1/2 you describe transitioning to. I've been able to steal blinds and am always playing 3-handed or HU. I'd describe ~6-7 being TAG, with 2-3 rocks, and the (very) rare maniac. I guess I can look forward to 0.5/1 Party fish and possibly an easier transition to 1/2.

Thanks for the great post and I'm eagerly awaiting Part 2!

At party the 0.5/1 games are also something like 30% vpip, but it is definatly looser and more passive then 1/2.
