I call this, but then again, I would have re-raised, not cold called. OTOH, it seems like everytime I make this call I am up against JJ+. A leak maybe?

Every time I have tried to pick off a squeeze play, or someone pwning limpers I have been wrong, and I have tried way too often.

That being said, I dont hate a call here based on pot odds alone. You see AK often enough here.

Umm, like call and stuff. What are the antes at 800/1600? You're getting odds against a pretty tight range, so I think this is a call. Edit: Antes are 75. You're getting better than 2:1, 30,000:14,050. Obviously, if AK isn't in his range, you're screwed, but I think it is in most ranges.

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 65.9478 % 64.58% 01.36% { TT+, AKs, AKo }
Hand 2: 34.0522 % 32.69% 01.36% { TT }

I call this like all day every day but I also play TT faster than most.
I also think his range is wider:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 55.7446 % 54.78% 00.96% { 99+, AQs+, AQo+ }
Hand 2: 44.2554 % 43.30% 00.96% { TT }

Do you use AQo/99+ as the standard? I've had trouble finding a "normal" range for people I barely know.

No, not necessarily. Just a rough thing I came up with when crunching this hand. I think the squeeze potential combined with villain's stack size means he's under pressure to make a move and this situation looks ideal. His range might be even wider than that, particularly since at this stage many people are reraising hands as big as TT and he doesn't expect to be up against anything that good.

He probably has a real hand. Theere is a good chance you are dominated, but he could have 99 or AQ-AK. Plus you have pot odds. You are calling 12.5 K to win 29.5K, so you are getting 2.3-1 odds. I think this is a call.

I don't get the rationale.

You are probably at least 50% to be dominated, 4-1 dog.

You probably have a 5% chance to be dominating, a 1-4 fave.

You're probably 45% chance to be a small fave in a race with AK or AQ, 45-55 or so.

How does that equate to justifying a 2.3-1 call?

I'm not saying I muck here all the time, but it looks that way unless the opponent has shown a tendency to push with less.

In the little UB MTTs where I'm usually lurking, my estimates show a big preflop reraise is about a 1-2 chance to be AA, KK, QQ or AK.
