UTG: 7,950
UTG+1: 1,808
MP: 9,208
CO: 9,469
BTN: 4,757
SB: 1,967
Hero (BB): 2,741

Pre-Flop: (625) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
5 folds, SB raises to 1,942 and is All-In, Hero folds

Results: 775 Pot
SB mucked and WON 800 (+475 NET)

New table (been there a little more than an orbit). It seems pretty aggressive so I don't think I'm going to get too many chances to open-shove from late position, though I haven't been there long enough to be sure. SB hasn't played a hand since I've been at the table. If SB has a random hand it's +EV (barely), but a lot of 4/180 players play much tighter in this situation than they should, which makes me guess his range is tighter. It's pretty marginal either way, I know, but which decision is a little better in terms of expected value?

Yes, standard fold.

This isn't really the best example of what I'm asking about conceptually, but I guess my question is: what kind of non-ideal or possible even -EV situations are "good enough" short-stacked?

Obviously I can't re-steal with my stack. There's a chance someone opens light and I catch them, of course -- but if I wait there's a chance that I dwindle down until it's almost insignificant when I double, too.

Again, I don't think I'm going to find spots to open pots and pick up the blinds and antes from late position at this table, and when I do it would probably seem pretty transparent to an observant player, as it would probably end up being the first time it's been folded to me there.

I never call here, but considering these circumstances, does anyone else?

i dont see anyone calling off over half their stack with 7 high...if SB minraised then i would consider pushing....maybe, but you would still have little fold equity. considering you cant resteal from a player who is all-in, this is a fold ..not a call
