any read on the button? he only has $500, if he wasn't in the hand i would raise probably 100% of the time here, but since he is, maybe you can call, he can shove, then you can see what SB does...regardless for like 2k it's all going in. who cares.

That israel trip did wonders for ur logic.
I would play this hand real real fast, i think that is the best way to get value from AK or so.

see thats why i dont think a flop raise is a good idea. I think he will fold AK. fv mentioned his stats 15/5 that is so tight.

I like the line that calls this flop to see the turn, what we would generally do with AA in this spot. The difference is there are so many ugly cards on the turn it is almost impossible to see a safe one (8-2 offsuit is about it).

Also, becuase of the board and we hold a 4, a set is reaaaaally unlikely to be out there, so we dont have to worry about our AA or in this case bottom two being destroyed by a set. I think the biggest fear is KQ, but since there are so many hands he could play that way, and we dont know what bullets we need to dodge, we need to commit oursleves to the hand now or fold. I hate folding, so push or make it like 1000 to go with the intention of calling an allin. Push isnt great becuase he wont call with a draw in that spot, but he may call with the AK so its our best option since 1000 may commit us to go allin on any turn card.

call flop, see what happens on turn. if he keeps giving me action and i don't fill up i'm likely folding.

I don't understand why nobody ever wants to see the turn on draw heavy baords with marginal (but likely best hands).

Yes the villian is likely drawing but we have position and he cant have that many draws. J-10, and diamonds only really and J-10o is pretty unlikely.

Call and see what the turn is and what he does it won't be hard to figure out his hand from there and you've kept the pot small and kept the advantage of position.

This play also has the advantage of the chance that the draw hits and it becomes obvious he wasn't drawing (i.e had us beat on the flop) and we can win the pot with a very high percentage bluff.

EDIT: Why bother responding to hand with fold PF, do you really think he cares about comments of teh pf play, there are lots of reasons to play that hand in that way pf in certain times of certain games.

When people say "see what happens on the turn."

Ok, a 2o peels and bb checks/leads for 3/4. Your move.

An ace, he checks/ he bets. Your move.

An offsuit jack he checks/bets. etc.

fv,

You can beat AA, thus in my book you have the nuts.

Push, and get called by worse hand while you are representing a flush draw

i am okay with folding the turn if i think i am beat. this really depends on how the game has been going and a lot of other factors that im not going to get into.
