Default NL25: QQ UTG, BB reraises

Hey, I'm just making the switch from Limit to NL, so there are some things that I'm wondering about preflop. One of them is how to play premium, but not great (ie. AKs, QQ, JJ, sometimes KK, AQs) hands. I think this is a perfect example of my situation.

Villain has only played about a round, and has only VP$IP one of those hands.

Bodog 6max 25NL
SB: $27.05
BB: $25.00
Hero (UTG): $24.60
MP: $24.65
CO: $16.40
BTN: $43.84

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players)
Hero raises to $0.75, 4 folds, BB raises to $2.20, Hero raises to $7.00, BB raises all-in for $22.80, Hero ???

I'm wondering if I should have not 3-bet PF and just called and c/f to an unimproved flop with a big bet to me. Also what do I do in this hand if I have KK? AKs?

when you raise utg and get a 3bet from the blinds they usually have a premium hand. mostly JJ+, AK+. if you 4bet you'll prolly lose all but AA/KK. you cant 4bet/fold since sometimes hes gonna be shoving with AK and with all th emoney in the pot foldings a mistake. if you're 4betting you're doing it for vaue so call a shove.

However i'd just call his 3bet and see a flop.

EDIT: if i have KK here i'd 4bet most of the time, and rarely just call. not sure what i'd do with AKs, since you have position i'd prolly call and see a flop.

I would just call his 3 bet and see a flop. You never want to 4 bet if you are not willing to call a shove

This is a really frustrating spot. Your raise is fine of course, but sometimes I limp with a plan to re-raise on a looser table. Anyway, if you put yourself in the BBs head, he sees that you're raising UTG, and he decides to repop you. At these limits you're up against AK or a big pair a lot of the time, because he should have a fair idea you have a legit hand, AND he is OOP.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm not very experienced yet. Heck, I've been stacked twice in the last week 4-betting KK vs. AA. One time middle position and one time I was UTG. But that's a bit harder to get away from methinks.

EDIT: Crap! He's in the BB so you have position! I DEFINITELY flat call his 3-bet in this spot with QQ.

you are not 3-betting, you are 4-betting

Personally, I just call the 3-bet and see what the flop brings. I would approach cautiously in this case since villain is rr'ing you from the blinds even when you raised UTG, so he probably has a very strong hand if he is positionally aware (that may be a big assumption)

If you have KK, then I would 4-bet

If you have AKs, then just call the 3-bet.

These things may change based on reads, but against unknown these should be standard.

in most cases, i will just flat call to see a flop.

i will 4bet with intention of calling a shove if i have a read on BB's play
