WW3 - The Setup?

A few questions about WW3, if it happens.

What would the teams be? Who sits out?

Also, in the event of nukes being fired, what would the next 48 hours be like... would everyone launch nukes at each other and bye-bye modern civilization (at least in the countries involved)? Or, is this why WW3 will never happen?

China-Russia-India-Pakistan Battle Royale. LOL teams. Europe craps herself and does nothing. USA makes noise about Taiwan but does nothing. Limited nuclear exchange, kills a few hundred million but certainly not the end of the world.

and also that 99% of americans aren't the us (or US) that is going to start any war.
