I think that is absurd. To even think they'll come close to playing this like a playoff game or even a regular season game is asinine.

[/ QUOTE ]

But, that's exactly what they did in 2003 and 2004.

I guess you haven't been watching Pats 4th quarters this year. They don't take players out. They are obv on a mission.

They're not going to play this game like the SB. Players are going to be rested. They degree to which that happens depends on your analysis and score etc. I don't think that Bill B. will do what Dungy does, but its idiotic to think that they will play that game like they will be playing games in the playoffs.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think this statement would be accurate about any other coach in football. But BB's ego is so big and it's already obvious that they want to destroy everybody in their way.

If they have any kind of look at this at all, he will do everything in his power to make it happen, including putting Brady/Moss/etc. in harms way. I think it's pretty stupid and illogical, but the diehard Pattards on this board seem to understand it.

What happens if they tie a game? Technically they'd be "undefeated," but not winning all their games would take something away from it.

Then BB will commit suicide and Pats never win again after that. This is why if the Pats tie a game this year, it must be the Super Bowl, otherwise they stand no chance of winning it all...

Thremp u keep arguing this point but BB has a history of playing his starters even when the game is meaningless and they have clinched. You really think any player for NE in the game is gonna take it ez? Even the [censored] punter wants to go 16-0. They are gonna play their asses off if their 15-0 and facing NYG.

All the media hype and questions about the game prior is gonna make it feel like a playoff game.

If they lose a game it won't be because they let up at all. They want this record bad. Hell, a team wins the bowl every year, but nobody has ever gone 16-0.

id almost rather go undefeated than with the superbowl. much rarer an accomplishment. i dont see how this irrational or crazy in any way, and id be pretty pissed if we are 15-0 and sit anyone good against the giants.

Going 16-0 and losing in the playoffs would be soul crushing. It wouldn't have the accomplishment of the Dolphins but it would still be brought up every year when discussing an unbeaten teams chances of running the table.
