Default Getting rid of the losing mentality

Easy,

I've been playing now for over two years, mostly small stakes NL (1-2 and below). I have always done pretty well and was always pretty philosophical when dealing with beats and variance because it I knew it would always turn around.

However over the last six months or so I have been running terribly, still winning but with probably about 1/3 of the winrate. The problem is that I am beginning to tilt quite badly now and am expecting to lose when I go into a pot. This is obviously compounding my bad run causing bad play and stopping me from pulling myself out of it.

Does anyone know any techniques for positive thought/dealing with tilt or have any links to a good post on it? If not can anyone suggest some good books I can buy?

Ta for thoughts

Breaks, whether they be short or extended can be very refreshing to one's game. Try it out taking short breaks like a few days off or a week and see what transpires.

I am glad to hear someone else is having this problem too.

I blame it on the UIGEA and the Neteller problem.

I have heard on this board that many people think online poker is illegal and they can't go start on a site. There is a downturn in advertising too.

This means there are far fewer fish at the bottom of the food chain, and the resluts can be felt at higher levels. I doubt the world class players see much impact, but their base is more casino driven.

Just learn to play better, and try not to see this as a $ reslult driven exercise. It should be an ability improvement driven exercise.
