Default Foreign language movies

I was wondering if someone could recommend some good foreign language films, particularly Spanish. Here is a list of some foreign language films i have seen:
City of God - one of my all time favorites
Bus 174 - very good documentary
Amores perros - good directing and interesting plot
Noi - meh, not that interesting

Spanish: check out Sex & Lucia and Lovers of the Arctic Circle, both from director Julio Medam.

Also, Y Tu Mama Tabian is very good.

"Le Femme Nikita" is about 14 X better than the English remake with Bridget Fonda.

PS It's in French not Spanish.

This might be a little obvious, but Amelie is pretty good, although French.

The Barbarian Invasions is an excellent film that I thought was a little overlooked although it did win the Oscar for best foreign language film in 2004. Also French.

The Yakuza Papers.

Its a six movie series sometimes called the "Japanese Godfather"

I think it does an amazing job in not glamorizing organized crime. The camera work is also very memeorable, raw is a perfect adjective to describe it.

Agreed. And even that wasn't as good as its press, I don't think. Had some cool moments though, and I love tough chick movies.

I've been wanting to see that for a long time. Sounds like you're saying it's yet another incarnation of shaky cam, though, so that makes it sound tough to sit through eleventy hours of or however long it takes.
