This is how I imagine this thing would work:

-I think that he best solution would be using the stars formula. That way we can export results easily from stars (jurollo has system for this?) and have to do some work only on ftp scores.
-Top 10 or 15 scores should count. Volume shouldn't decide winner nor should one huge score.
-Two or three different tiers. If we want to have 3 it would be Tier1: FOs <20$ and rebuys 3$, Tier 2: FOs 20-50$ rebuys 5-10$, Tier 3: FOs >50$ and rebuys >10$. If we decide to have only 2 tiers we could combine tier 1 and 2.
-Buy-ins: Tier 1 20$, Tier 2 50$, Tier 3 150$
Every suggestion is welcome.

We still need someone with good excel skills to do the scoring and someone trustworthy to hold the monies. I think we can ship few % of the overall prizepool to the scorekeeper? And if this thing gets huge maybe some kind mod will reward him with a custom title.

This sounds good... exscept I think if you want to do 180's we should make a 180s TIER? It's completely diff I think than huge MTT's. We're getting close!

I agree that the 180s should be excluded

I would be interested in this also if there is a lower stakes tier. Also, if someone gets me the excel sheet to use, I would be happy to keep score.

If we are excluding 180s then we should exclude every tournament where there is 180 or less entrants and ftp has a lot of them. Also 180s don't score you that many points if we have only top 10 scores count.
Example: You get 309 points if you win a 20/180. If you come first in 20$ tournament with 1100 entrants you score 764 points. Even 6. place there scores more points than winning a 180. And 2 20/180 wins doesn't score as many points as winning the bigger tourney. And the guy who wins the bigger tournament has a slot more to use in his top ten scores.

But if you guys really think we should have different tier to tournaments with under 180 entrants i see no reason to deny it. It just means more work for whitecolumn or anyone who keeps the score.

edit: and imo two thing which separate 180s from huge fields is that there is less variance and you can put more volume to them.
