Default AJs monotone flop (too weak or standard?)

This is my second orbit at the table so no reads.

I'm posting this more as a check up because I think I'm playing way too weakly and find myself in this situation loads. I was even going to check the flop but when BB folded I thought there was a good chance a bet would take it down.

In hindsight I think I should probably have bet the turn and river as SB is likely holding a lone heart.

This is ladbrokes 2/4 6-max.

Hero (CO) dealt: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
(1 fold), MP3 called, Hero raised, (1 fold) , SB called, BB called, (1 fold)

Flop (7SB) : 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checked, (1 fold), Hero bets, SB calls

Turn (4.5BB) : 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
SB checked, Hero checked

River (4.5BB) : 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB bet, Hero folded

Comments really appreciated.

Against an unknown 2/4 player I would bet flop, turn and check river behind. The board pairing on turn is really good for us.
As played I call river and take a note.

I think betting the turn and checking the river is definitely superior to checking the turn and calling the river in this spot.

Id fire another barral on the turn as it appears that the 5 doesn't help villian here and u will get a fold from a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]less hand. Then River i would give it up but i think its worth one more try.

bet the turn planning to check behind UI. it's any easy fold to a raise, and you can easily have the best hand, as he will peel the flop with any [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

either bet turn check behind river or check turn call safe river depending on villains tendencies

after 2 orbits you probably have some kind of idea how passive or aggressive and loose or tight villain is
