Long Game Signup - Starts This Monday (Aug 13)

Since the only currently running game apparently ends tomorrow and I don't see anything else set to run soon, I'm just gonna start a game ASAP.

I'm thinking of doing a relatively straightforward game, although not a true AS game. Something like 1 seer, 1 angel, 1 vigilante. I will determine the extent of their powers once I see how many players we have.

I'll probably use a similar day/night schedule to that one recent game (Gold Rush I think?) where day starts at about midnight PDT and runs until about 6 (3 AM to 9 PM Eastern).

It would be helpful if we could have a co-mod do vote counts for the first half of the day while I sleep.

I think this is a great idea. So many of us are night owls that its silly not to use that time, and wolves shouldn't need all night to figure out their kills.

In the past I'd considered trying out a game where day ran from about 9 PM to 4 PM Eastern so that everyone in the US would be able to post before going to bed and then still have plenty of time to catch up again after waking up, and then in the evening wolves would have plenty of time to discuss their kills and villagers would be able to reread a bit and start the cycle over again.

And for Europeans this would line up much more closely to their RL day/night cycles - although it would be a problem for them to do night actions.

The place I've played a bunch runs something similar Soah and there is a heavy UK presence.

Days end 3 p.m. Eastern and start 7 p.m. ... the drawback is for those in the U.S. who work a 9-5 ... meh. But having the thread open for the night owls is great imo (night owl, of course) ... plus, I don't know about other people, but as a villager I find myself hesitating to do overnight stuff if I think I might be a kill candidate in the 9a.m.-10 p.m. format.

The format you're talking about does make it tough on wolves to some extent, especially those who are really active when they are villagers, because people expect posts 24/freakin/7 from those people. $.02

it shouldn't make it any tougher on those players - the normal setup has the game thread open pretty much all day anyway

This makes a bit easier for me as villager, a lot harder for me as wolf.
