$16: Overpair facing raise on lousy flop
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
UTG+1 (t1420) Hero (t1490) MP2 (t1580) MP3 (t1540) CO (t780) Button (t860) SB (t1510) BB (t2820) UTG (t1500) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls t20, Hero raises to t100, MP2 calls t100, MP3 calls t100, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls t80. Flop: (t430) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero bets t350, MP2 folds, MP3 raises to t940, UTG+1 folds, Hero? Is this an easy fold? My thinking is that this would be a shove if I had a diamond, since at least I'd have outs against a set and a blocker against the ace of diamonds. I generally give $16 unknowns no credit at all early on, but this feels too marginal, am I right? |

Re: $16: Overpair facing raise on lousy flop
Calling is fine, IMHO, you're rarely behind to a made flush against slowplaying fish. I think you have to flip with the money in the pot. Occasionally you're dead but sometimes you are also not even up against a flush draw.

you only need to be good about 1/3 of the time, so call is probably best. i'm guessing you win this about 40% of the time.

yeah just get it all in I think. It's not the worst thing racing off your chips vs. a probably 12 outer or more.
