Bodog Blocked to Canada now?
I am sorry if this has been asked before, however after searching some I couldnt find anything. I just tried opening an account on Bodog and got an error message
"Thank you for your interest in Bodog.com. Unfortunately, due to jurisdictional restrictions, some international residents are currently unable to view the page you've requested at this time." I then tried while using an anonymous tunneling method and there wasnt any problem. So my question is if Bodog is blocking Canadian customers now. Thank you for your assitance. |

Re: Bodog Blocked to Canada now?
They've always blocked Canadians because that's where Calvin Ayre (the founder) is from and he doesn't want to get into any legal trouble in his home country, I believe is the main reason.

yeah, that is what I assumed. I know it isnt really illegal here but there is aiding and abbeting charges that are open to interpretation.

Re: Bodog Blocked to Canada now?
As far as I a understand, in BC (and Canada) it is illegal to run any form of public gambling for Canadians without the provincial lottery corporation being involved. Because Bodog does not deal with Canadians in any way, the governments don't care. If they were to allow Canadians, they would get shut down faster than me making moves on Jessica Alba.
Which is ridiculously fast. In BC at least, the BCLC owns everything, even the poker tables, shuffle machines and chips at the big casinos. They have their hand in everything they can, slimy bastards. |

they have always blocked canadians [/ QUOTE ] When I opened my Bodog account for Sports Betting I lived in the USA, but I've been in Canada for three years now and have never had any trouble accessing my Bodog account. Perhaps, as one poster suggested, it depends on the province (I'm in Quebec). |

I believe the only time they check is during the initial sign-up, when they block you if you pick Canada as your country. |

Re: Bodog Blocked to Canada now?
They do not IP-block, but several times they've locked my acct when i've played from up here, and made me call them to explain my situation (e.g. live in the US, just visiting canada temporarily). They told me they do random IP checks (but do not outright BAR u from playing), and hassle u if u play from up there.
