Re: NL50SH, TT gets c/r
I typically find when a tight player does this its either a big PP or a set. I would probably just fold here. He could have 55-99 here, but I doubt it, and he doesn't have AK here.
edit: i should add a little more insight to why.. when you raise pf, get called by a tight player who C/R you on a pretty dry board, it's usually a very strong hand (PP or set) |

call, and reevaluate turn. you are IP. A fold would be very weak. If he checks turn, I'm gonna bet. If he bets the turn I'm gonna muck my hand.

If you think your tens are still good, its in all likely because you think mid pair or flush draw. Too many bad cards can come off on this turn that you would definately give up. So calling and giving up would be spew. This is one of those spots where I think you can fold to the flop c/r and not feel real bad about it. I folded 1010 yesterday almost in this exact situation. I am not wanting to play a large pot with 1010 here. |

Re: NL50SH, TT gets c/r
Just don't fold, villain is a bit nitty but very likely having an overpair. Might be any A too, figuring that you rarely hit that flop. Calling will ruin your action against moron having 66 although this guy might be able to fold it to a raise anyway. Also, what would be a nice card on turn? Even if we pair the board, draws could get more timid. So I guess we should shove here..?

With stats like that at a 6 max table this appears to be a fold.

Re: NL50SH, TT gets c/r
I would have bet more on the flop. As played, it's tough. It could be a set scared of the flush/straight draws, or it could be an overpair trying to get you to fold overcards. Personally that's what I'd lean towards and I'd probably push, but it's close.

Re: NL50SH, TT gets c/r
I think the problem in this hand is your flop cbet size. I would feel a lot more comfortable folding to the cr if I had cb say $5. And a bet that size is still getting called by lots of worse hands, offers worse drawing odds, and makes villain less likely to pull a move.
So I think the cb size kinda distorts the rest of the hand so it's very hard to judge what villain is up to. But I'd probably fold as played. |
