Did you purposely list his worst movies? If so, that post is hilarious. If not...still funny.

Donny throws a strike every time but his last.

[/ QUOTE ]
Not only that, every throw (by anyone) in the movie is a strike except for the one right before Donny dies.

I watched the movie again last night and noticed that this is false. I have been horribly misled by the internet.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, if you count the fat black guy nailing the split during the opening credits.

[/ QUOTE ]

Also you may recall when Smokey bowls (you don't actually see it) and Walter says "OVER THE LINE!!". Smokey says to mark it an 8.

Is this movie as good as I think it is? Is there any reason for me not to think this is one of the best movies of my generation?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. No.

I love it. If it's not my absolute favorite, it's damn close.

yeah, the "rewatchability" is what makes this movie so great. i've never been able to watch most movies more than once, but i love watching this one over and over.

[/ QUOTE ]

I completely agree. This is what I tell everybody when I ask them if they have seen it.

I recently left Los Angeles, because my wife and I split. I left behind the following: Every DVD I owned except one, all furniture, two cats, 40inch flat panel television with XBOX360 and games, friends, and a million other things I haven't mentioned.

I took TBL out of the case, put it in my laptop DVD drive, and it came with me.

Brilliant movie and I think it takes 10 viewings or so before one really begins to appreciate the greatness.

[/ QUOTE ]

If anything truly describes how great this movie is and how much its fans love it, this post is the one.

I've permanently incorporated "Ladyfriend" into my general vocabulary.

[/ QUOTE ]

Me too. One of my best friends and I are the only people I know that use this term regularly.

I am very skeptical of this scene as a bowling dork. Nobody picks up the 7-10 split that way. You have to hammer one of them off the side or back wall and hope for it to bounce out.

There is not enough room between the 10-pin and the channel for you to sneak your ball in there and slide the pin straight across. It's physics...or maybe it's geometry.

All in all, when one of your main complaints about a movie is how a spare is converted in a bowling montage, that movie is probably pretty solid.
