I think it also depends on the guys attitude. If you have been playing with him for 8 hours or so, u know if he is a jerk off or a nice guy. If he is a jerk off, then obv keep the whole pot, if he is a nice guy..chop. there is no way i give him the whole pot though.

I'd give him the pot or half. Chopping the pot when there is a dispute seems to work out more than other things. When I ran a small poker game, I would suggest chopping the pot as the best solution. If I was sitting next to someone that overlooked their hand, I might kick them to alert them something is going on but I would not say anything.

You played an angle, inducing him into overlooking his hand. As others have said, it would depend on how he had acted, his behavior, earlier. Do every trick you know to the rude, trash talkers, slow rollers, high-fivers, and lawyers.

[ QUOTE ]

A few times, I have bluffed the river in a big NL pot, been called after some thought and announced, "nuts." A couple times, players have actually thrown their hands face down toward the muck. Both times, I quickly stopped them, said I was kidding, and turned over my busted draw.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is neither funny nor cool. I have seen an idiot do this to someone else and did not stop the other player in time before the cards hit the muck. A lot of yelling and badness ensued.

Don't be a douche.

I'm a sucker, so even though I think you should keep the pot, I'd probably chop it. More importantly, though, I'd be furious at the floorman for putting the responsibility on me. He's there to make the decisions, not to shirk responsibility and let players bully each other into giving up the money that's rightfully theirs.

If he was a good guy and/or a regular I'd chop.

[/ QUOTE ]

At the risk of generalizing, in my experience, regulars are much more likely to be angle-shooters than tourists, so I'd be less likely to split with a regular. Besides, a regular should know better.

Um...he turned over his hand when he was called. That's not playing an angle, that's doing exactly what he was supposed to do.
