If Wells gets to the mound this season for more than 2 starts, I might have a stroke.

From surprise, or from having to watch him throw BP?

Or both

Lester pretty good.

[/ QUOTE ]

He gave up just 1 hit in 8 innings today. Even against the Royals, that's impressive.

In 45.1 innings, he's given up just 36 hits and 12 ERs. He's got a few too many walks though- 29.

Mostly the watching him throw BP out there, but I would also be damned surprised if he pitched 3 more games in MLB.

All this talk about SS has diverted us from the achilles heel of this team, starting pitching. With Wakefield's back now acting up the Sox can count on one finger the number of starting pitchers they can rely upon to give a "quality start".

[/ QUOTE ]

Now that was a quality start.

So I came home today and turned on the TV which was still on NESN from the night before. Anyways, it's 1-0 in the top of the ninth with Papelbon on the mound so I figure it's last night's highlights. Red Sox win and the highlights start... Manny HR? Josh Beckett with 8 shutout innings?

lol

I love how the Sox scored 7 runs in 3 games and swept the series. Nice.
