Eating in the morning
Quick question. Whenever I wake up, it could be 7am or noon, I am never hungry. I have to wait an hour or two at the least before I feel the need to eat. Some days Ill wake up(10-11am) and not eat untill dinner around 7 or 8pm(like today I havent eaten anything yet). I do tend to eat late at night but even when I dont this still happens.
Is this normal? Anything I need to worry about? I have another question Ill ask relating to this after I get some responses Thanks |

Re: Eating in the morning
fasting is bad for your metabolism and keeps your body catabolic (breaking down muscle) so its usually not conducive to people's goals...

Re: Eating in the morning
I don't know if it's normal but I'm like that too. I'm trying to train myself to eat in the morning since spreading your food out throughout the day is really a whole lot better for you. A couple days ago I tried to make myself eat as soon as I got up and I threw it up. =[
I think with practice I'm getting better though. I'm able to eat about an hour after waking up now. |

Re: Eating in the morning
You've probably heard over and over that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, it's true - your body needs nutrients as soon as possible to jump-start your metabolism and get out of a catabolic (muscle-wasting) state. As much as you might not be able to, you should try to eat a proper (and large) meal ASAP after waking up. Something with a significant amount of protein and whole grains. If solid food doesn't work, try a meal replacement shake (can't go wrong with EAS Myoplex). I make my own, it looks like this:
1 scoop whey protein 12 oz. skim milk 2/3 cup rolled oats 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter 3-4 ice cubes Blend it up for as long as it takes. Bitch is delicious. |

Re: Eating in the morning
So should I force myself to eat at least something small whenever I wake up?
Also I have a horrible attention span, I cant stay on one thing for very long at all. I went to a doctor and he said he didnt think I had ADD. Could me not eating after I wake up be contributing to this problem? |

Re: Eating in the morning
that's funny, I'm always down for eating. Even if I get up at 4am to go piss, I'll walk over to the fridge and have some chicken or nuts.

Re: Eating in the morning
I posted the crocpot slow cooker idea in another thread but get a crocpot/slowcooker and slice up a lean meat and combine lean meat with vegetables.
Combos like lean chicken with carrots, brocolli, frozen vegetables, apples sliced up. Turn slowcooker on low and go to sleep. around 8 hrs later wake up and eat. I was not hungry at breakfast and I'm not a morning person but when i wake up and that food smell hits me I eat and it tastes great and I feel good all day. I didnt even like carrots and brocolli until they were slow cooked. The slowcooker makes everything so soft and tasty its incredible! |
