that was the main reason i didnt bet [/ QUOTE ] That's not a good reason to not bet. Checking here isn't terrible...but I still bet usually. Spades bricked, so it's really just whether or not villain has enough weakish Ax hands in his range to make betting profitable. |

Re: is this missed value?
I'm betting here usually. Unless you think he's tricky and capable of a bluffy CRAI. Checking isn't awful though, I guess this is player dependent but I'd think you missed on some value most of the time.

Re: is this missed value?
Hmm. If you bet $30 and he CRAI you are getting decent odds to call in a sick spot. My goal is get two streets of value against unknowns with TPTK. With a passive calling station read this is an easy bet. Against a good player, I check this behind because not much worse is giving me value and nothing better folds.

Re: is this missed value?
do you have any read here? any stats? anything? With no read against an unknown, I think it's pretty neutral between check and bet. I'd probably bet. Any kind of read could easily swing that though.

[/ QUOTE ] There are two flush draws and a gutshot on board, if he had something that beat you then you would know by now. If he hit his 8 two pair he would probably lead, but you will get looked up by a Kx of spades or Ax hands all the time. The only hand I'm scared of is AQ. |

Re: is this missed value?
The point is, is there much value in betting? It's not that we are worried we are beaten, it is whether we will be called by a worse hand. Like the only hand I can think of that we can extract some value from would be A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or something like that (pair, flush draw - didnt make two pair). I think if Villian is competent I check, because most villians would felt Ax[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the flop. Actually, I think this is a check - Dont think we can get called by worse often enough.
Obv this response changes if villian is really spewy etc. Reads needed I guess. |

Re: is this missed value?
yeah, i think u need to bet it. it might be thin but not betting thin on the river in big pots can be detrimental to your win rate.
