deep AA faces flop minraise
Villain is 48/6.3/2.6. The only note I have on him is that he donked KJ into the preflop raiser in a four way pot on a QQ9 flush draw board, then check/called down when he hit a king on the turn. I have seen him being fairly aggro against other players and obviously he can bluff as well as get lots of value from his hands.
A minraise is usually a fairly strong hand in my experience, but it's player dependent and I'm not ready to give him credit yet I don't think. Still, because we are fairly deep I'm unsure of the best plan for the rest of the hand. edited to show complete action rather than cutting off at turn No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $2/$4 5 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $380.00 CO: $273.75 Hero: $712.20 SB: $500.80 BB: $1.008.20 Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, CO calls, Hero raises to $14, SB folds, BB calls, CO calls. I might like min raise river for value.

Re: deep AA faces flop minraise
hmm yea i think you will run into QQ and AJ a lot here, if he was on a set you'd think he'd go a little stronger at least on river.
problem with minraising river, though i generally like the idea, is that it gives you sick odds if he shoves, so you really want to have a good read on his shoving range one way or another. I think calling down is pretty reasonable. |

Re: deep AA faces flop minraise
Shove river. Unless he's really bad he mostly just has air or like AJ here. His bet sizing leads me to believe he doesn't have a set, but I think he calls with worse/folds enough to make a shove EV+

Re: deep AA faces flop minraise
its very read-dependend wether u should raise the rive rfor value here. his river bets looks def weak but it could def be a strong thats afraid to lose value.
but i am pretty sure one-pair-hands make up a huge % of his range here and hes never folding AJ, QQ to a minraise on the river. calling and taking a note looks good too... |

Re: deep AA faces flop minraise
I think your stack size is about borderline where you start not wanting to stack off. If shorter you def want to raise the turn and get it in, I think the way you played it is ok though
