Flop the nuts, should I slow-play?

8-handed live 4/8 hand. Hijack and cutoff are both LAGs, but the hijack is much more aggressive than the cutoff. The button is the callingest calling station in Callsville. The rest are loose/passive.

Preflop: I have Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the Big Blind
3 limpers, cutoff raises. The button and I call, and all limpers call.

Flop: J 9 8 rainbow (no hearts)

I don't slowplay often, but I had to think about this one. There are no real draws and if I check I can be pretty sure the PF raiser will bet. I'll post what I did later, but first I'd like to hear a couple of your opinions.

You're in a pot with every loose player at the table and several are aggressive.

Why would you slowplay?

You have three players between you and the most aggressive player. Get them for as many bets as possible. Watch the aggro guy raise to allow you to 3-bet and get out of control with hands like any pair from AA-88, AJ-QJ, AT-JT, T9, T8, 98, J9, KQ... Slowplay almost never, but certainly not when there are so many other made hands that will put in bets with you.

I see no reason to slowplay here. Many hands will have a little piece of this flop (pairs, overcards with draws, etc) and most will stay in.

Also, in general, people will be slow to give you credit for a straight - it's not as obvious as a flush, so you will get more action before people realize what is going on (if they ever do).

This is a horrible place to slow play.

To slow play you need:
1. The best hand. OK, you've got that.
2. A high probability of everyone to fold to a bet. Well, maybe and maybe not.
3. For there to be a good second best hand for someone to make on the card you give them. No way here. Either they already have a second best hand or they are drawing to chop or beat you. Worse, a backdoor flush draw might fold here, but profitably call if they catch good on the turn. (Hey, it could happen.)

Also, be less inclined to slow play in large pots (even in cases where slowplaying might be reasonable).
