Default WC Finalists - time between SF & F

In his semi-final thread Clarkmeister wondered why the schedule would give one of the semi-finalists the advantage of more time between the SF & the final. I thought I'd look it up, and it turns out that there have been five WCs in which the SFs were a day apart, and in all of them, the team that played later won the final. Funnily enough, of the 4 3rd-place games played in these WCs (1930 had no such), the losing semi-finalists from the earlier games won three.

I know, I know, sample size warning etc.
