I was pissed after this hand because I think I can avoid going broke here for the following reasons: 1) I raised under the gun and a TAG player 3 bet exactly 3 times 2) The only hand I am stacking my opponent with is JJ and 10 10 MAYBE. Am I wrong to think this way? Should I just go with QQ on a safe flop everytime; assuming stack sizes are reasonable? |

Re: QQ 3 bet; Safe Flop
IMO, I'd c/r to around 35-40 and then folded to push against a TAG player. UTG raise is already strong enough but the 3bet comes from bn TAG is even scarier. So I guess the best way to find out if you're beat on the flop is by c/r medium size and leave some room for you to get out. What do you think guys?

Re: QQ 3 bet; Safe Flop
I don't like a check raise on this flop, it only ensures that weaker hands can fold, and guarantees you get stacked by better hands. I c/c this flop, to allow AK/AQ hands the chance to bluff again (they only have 6 outs max on the turn against you) and lets JJ/TT bet and over commit themselves to the pot. My plan on the turn would be to crai on most cards.
I will usually still get stacked here against AA/KK, so i need to give my opponent the chance to get stacked with a weaker hand/bluff me with air to counter the times i get stacked. |

Re: QQ 3 bet; Safe Flop
Oh so standard. Any CR and folding is terrible.
People are forgetting the times he has Ax/Kx and you protect yourself, also when he is frisky with lower PPs or has some junk like A9 Your other option is calling the flop bet but what do you do when an A/K turns? |

1) I raised under the gun and a TAG player 3 bet exactly 3 times [/ QUOTE ] he will also do this w/ jj+/ak (maybe also tt/aq) [ QUOTE ] 2) The only hand I am stacking my opponent with is JJ and 10 10 MAYBE. [/ QUOTE ] and by c/r flop he may be able to fold these hands (anc come over the top w/ hands that beat you), so just i would just c/c and allow him to bluff or take himself to value town on turn+river w/ weaker pairs. [ QUOTE ] Am I wrong to think this way? Should I just go with QQ on a safe flop everytime; assuming stack sizes are reasonable? [/ QUOTE ] this is very player dependant, you cant say if flop = xxx i will stack off everytime, vs some players you will stack off and vs some you wont. edit: [ QUOTE ] Your other option is calling the flop bet but what do you do when an A/K turns? [/ QUOTE ] berate yourself. |

Re: QQ 3 bet; Safe Flop
call flop given the dynamics here. he hasn't been out of line and he 3bet your utg raise. cr flop sucks.

Re: QQ 3 bet; Safe Flop
I can see this being hard to lay down, but a reraise that size in a .50/1 game preflop plus the all in after the low flop was screming aces to me, even before I got to the results.
With that huge pre-flop raise and no paint on the flop, I agree with tannenj, bet the flop (13 or so). |

If anything to me it's on the small side.. like he's laying the trap. |
