Default Affiliates at Goal Poker

Are there any affiliates here for Goal Poker?

I was negotiating for a higher starting percentage for The Rakeback Store with Goal and then after a week the response I get is this:

Please view below the outlined T&Cs for the Goal Poker Affiliate Program as it currently stands in relation to Rakeback:

"Affiliates may not promote Rake Back or insinuate that SITES offer Rake Back."

We welcome you to join the program however please note that the above does apply. Should you have any additional questions feel free to contact us.

This is obviously taken directly from their T & C, but why wouldn't they tell us this a week ago?

I'd be careful dealing with Goal. It seems they may decide arbitarily when to enforce this no rakeback clause.

hmmm...you'd think that if they wanted players to play with them, on Absolute's network, that RB would be OK. Doesn't seem like the brightest move on their part.

Sure hope we don't have another PokerShare-UB fiasco on our hands.

For the record, Goal Poker Rakeback is alive and well.

From a rakeback perspective, Goal poker is really ideally only suited to people who do not play at Absolute anymore because they cannot get rakeback there on their old accounts. Through Goal they get to play on the network and Absolute also benefit with more players.

Everyone wins.

Absolute will benefit?

Would this be similiar to the way Party benefited when Eurobet and Empire allowed rakeback?

See your point Peace and appreciate the feedback, but slightly different scenario we feel...here's our take

Most people who know about rakeback will definitely be playing at a site where they can get it...with the possible exception of Party/Stars

With the Party situation people were happy (and still are even now) to play there without rakeback because there was more money to be made even without rakeback because of the constant source of thousands upon thousands of fish and loose play.

We do not feel that fish factor is nearly as strong a motive at Absolute and so people, who are aware of rakeback, but who don't have rakeback (on their AP account) will not simply play at AP for the fish reason and they will prefer to play, say in a similar environment, like UB or Full Tilt where they can get rakeback on top of their play.

At least now they have an opportunity to return to the AP network if that's what they liked and to get rakeback in addition.

AP will benefit because there will be more people on the network as result of Goal joining, not only because of an increase in rakeback players but because of Goal's USP based around football (soccer).

They will also be getting revenue share.

Let's not kid ourselves here; we all know that nothing can beat the signup and continuous reloads that AP offer. Goal's aim is not to cannibalise AP by offering the same bonuses etc. Their focus is to introduce a different aspect to the industry and to make their site more about a lifestyle choice. Hence they offer prizes like flying 300 people to Ibiza on a private plane for a weekend to watch the World Cup Final on a massive screen at a private party on the beach rather just spend the money on sending 20 people to the WSOP.

Of course it's horses for courses on which prize you would personally prefer

best wishes

Well I hope it works out. There have been enough problems lately with rakeback and affiliates. Frankly I don't have much confidence in a program that states in their affiliate contract they don't allow sites to promote rakeback.

Seems like I've seen this movie before.

Thanks for the good wishes. The scheme is 100% approved.
As a lot of affiliates will tell you. Many of the contracts we have in place with the poker rooms state that revenue share with players is against the rules unless if previously agreed upon with the poker room.

So was this in the original affiliate T&C or did they change it? You are sure Absolute won't make them stop?

One can never say never about any rakeback scheme at any room or network, but we have had our program approved by Goal and they have discussed it with Absolute. All parties have been consulted and everybody has ticked the "OK" box
