POKER HOST MOVING TO MICROGAMING POKER NETWORK

Online poker site finds a new home after Tribeca pull-out

In earlier bulletins Online-Casinos.com/InfoPowa reported on the imminent US pull-out of the Tribeca Tables network, which was acquired by turnkey provider Playtech last year. The withdrawal has placed several of the network's sites, including Doyle's Room, Golden Palace, Straightflush and Poker Host on notice that their US days, at least with Tribeca, are numbered.

Poker Host has announced that it plans to depart Tribeca for the growing Microgaming Poker Network, which services over 40 online sites and accepts players in all but 11 of the US states.

Tribeca Poker Network No Longer Taking US Players
by PokerPages.com
Sat, Feb 17th, 2007 @ 12:00am

Tribeca Tables online poker network suddenly said yesterday it is no longer taking new US online poker players. They also said starting February 28 all IP addresses from the U.S. will be locked out.

Tribeca hosts several popular online poker rooms including well known DoylesRoom, BetUS Poker, Platinum Poker, GoldenPalace.com and the recent StraightFlush Poker.

Poker players outside of the U.S. will continue to have access to games as usual.

The closure to the U.S should come as no surprise since Tribeca announced it was coming in several months in their November 10 press release. In it, they said they would "endeavour to assist it's US facing clients in particular with the transition as much as possible. Players do not need to worry as the transition will take several months to implement."

But the February 28 date is a bit sooner than Tribeca's sites were lead to believe they had to either convert to another network supporting US players or to finish developing their own network.

Of special note, DoylesRoom is developing their own network and had a launch date targeted for sometime next month. This likely will pressure them to open sooner.

I believe, as this last sentence hints, that Doyle's is moving to something called DigitalGaming. But this is just something I read here somewhere and I'm too lazy to search.
